1) Background

The Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) will mark its 57th Anniversary on 30 November 2022.

To commemorate the 57th SEAMEO Anniversary, the SEAMEO Secretariat has organised the following reginal competitions for its 57th celebration encompassing the theme “SEAMEO CARES: Building Forward Stronger (BFS) in SEAMEO Member Countries”. 

  • SEAMEO TikTok Challenge ‘The Transformation of Educations Begins with Teachers’
    The SEAMEO Secretariat has received 170 entries from the primary and secondary teachers in 6 Southeast Asian countries, namely, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.

  • 2nd SEAMEO Youth Action Contest on VUCA World  
    A total of 256 entries of 3 categories:  VLOG (96 entries), Storytelling (123 entries), and Dance & Song (37 entries) submitted to the SEAMEO Secretariat with the engagement of 1,045 students (15-23 years old) from 123 schools in 5 countries, namely, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, and Vietnam.

The SEAMEO Secretariat would like to invite the competitions’ participants, educators, teachers and students to participate the Award Presentation Ceremony (virtual) of SEAMEO TikTok Challenge and the 2nd SEAMEO Youth Action Contest on VUCA World on Tuesday 13 December 2022 at 14.00-16.00 hrs (Bkk Time, GMT+7).  The event will be streamed live by the SEAMEO YouTube channel.
