Bangkok, 29 September 2022: The SEAMEO Secretariat in collaboration with QS Quacquarelli Symonds virtually hosted the 2nd SEAMEO-QS Higher Education Forum on Using Analytics to Plan International Collaboration in Asia Pacific at 14.00-16.10 hrs (GMT+7/BKK Time) on 29 September 2022 streaming live via the SEAMEO Secretariat YouTube channel. More than 2,300 participants, including university presidents, vice presidents, department heads and experts from higher education institutions, educators, teachers, and general public from Southeast Asian countries and beyond attended the event.

Following the success of the 1st Higher Education Forum in October 2021 with the theme ‘Using Performance Insight to Build World-Class Universities in Southeast Asia’, QS continues to cooperate with SEAMEO to organise the 2nd Higher Education Forum in 2022 with the aim to provide better understanding of data driven decision making in international collaboration platform. In addition, the forum also engaged experts to share the experiences on internationalisation strategies and global engagement initiatives from the three top-ranked universities in Asia Pacific namely University of South Australia; University of Tsukuba, Japan, who is one of the SEAMEO Affiliate members; and IPB University Bogor, Indonesia.

Dr Ethel Agnes Pascua Valenzuela, the SEAMEO Secretariat Director, reaffirmed in the welcome message that the forum will spark more brilliant innovative ideas and bigger actions from the participants. Therefore, together we can build back better and stronger by applying the insights from QS Analytics systems presented today to plan for enhancing international collaboration further.
