A. Background

The SEAMEO Secretariat and QS Quacquarelli Symonds of United Kingdom organised the 1st SEAMEO-QS Higher Education Forum, with the theme ‘Using Performance Insight to Build World-Class Universities in Southeast Asia’, lived on 14 October 2021 by the SEAMEO Secretariat YouTube Channel.    

With the contributions of experts from QS: Mr Ben Sowter, Senior Vice President, and Mr Leigh Kamolins, Head of Evaluation as well as the experience sharing from Professor Dato' Ir Dr Mohd Hamdi Abd Shukor, Vice-Chancellor/Presiden of Universiti Malaya, Malaysia, the event gained remarkable results as follows:

B. 2nd SEAMEO-QS Higher Education Forum

To continue the collaboration that will benefit to the Southeast Asian universities, the SEAMEO Secretariat in collaboration with QS will organise the 2nd SEAMEO-QS Higher Education Forum with the theme “Using Analytics to Plan International Collaboration in Asia Pacific” on 29 September 2022 at 14.00-16.10 hrs.     

The purposes of the session are to provide an understanding of data driven decision making in international collaboration. QS currently conducts the world’s largest annual academic survey involving over 150,000 respondents holds insightful information on how each university could use these valuable insights into their planning and execution of international collaboration.

The forum will highlight the latest insights from QS Academic Survey through QS Analytics system and share the expriences in international collaboration from the top-ranked universities on their success stories of becoming a world-class university.
