SEAMEO Signs MOU with ASEAN-China Centre





Cooperation between SEAMEO and ACC started in 2012 when the SEAMEO Secretariat participated in the 5th China ASEAN Education Cooperation Week in October 2012 in the People ™s Republic of China. Moreover, some SEAMEO Regional Centres such as SEAMEO VOCTECH and SEAMEO RIHED have prior association with ACC as part of the collaborative activities they had undertaken together.

Under the framework of the newly-established cooperation, SEAMEO and ACC will co-organize the 6th China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week on 16-20 September 2013 in Guizhou, People ™s Republic of China. The activity is supported by the Ministry of Education, People ™s Republic of China. Ten SEAMEO Regional Centres are set to showcase the work and innovation of SEAMEO in education, science and culture in Southeast Asia during the event.

ASEAN-China Centre is an inter-governmental, international organization established by leaders of ASEAN and People ™s Republic China through an agreement made during the 14th ASEAN-China Summit in November 2011 in Bali, Indonesia. ACC was established to promote cooperation in trade, investment, tourism, education and culture between ASEAN countries and the People ™s Republic of China.
