“Get inspiration and innovations from the Stories of Success on Building Back Better during the Pandemic”

Participants around the world are watching SEAMEO-Partners Lecture Series

Teachers and students from Southeast Asia shared 157 Stories of Success on Building Back Better during the Pandemic in the SEAMEO Pre-Congress Lecture Series on 5 and 8 April 2021 with over 2,000 participants on the SEAMEO’s YouTube channel.

Although COVID-19 Pandemic creates many challenges to the society and communities, it has significantly driven the educational communities shifting to a new digital landscape. Educational Institutions initiate various programmes and activities to improve the school system and empower teachers and students.

The SEAMEO Secretariat initiated the SEAMEO Pre-Congress Lecture Series: Stories of Success before the 2021 SEAMEO Congress on 28th and 29th April as a platform for educational policy makers, leaders, teachers and students to share the “Stories of Success.” In particular, contributing to the theme “Transformation and Innovation during COVID-19 Pandemic”.

These learning events with the theme “Transformation and Innovation in the post COVID-19 Pandemic had 2 sessions:  Monday 5th April and 8th April 2021.  By watching the success stories shared by school leaders, teachers, and students, the participants would learn and gain new ideas of how to improve environment or ecosystem in the schools and communities, new pedagogical approaches to nurture and develop teachers and classrooms, innovative teaching techniques for teaching foreign language, STEM, and special needs education, and how to inspire/improve yourself during the pandemic.

The SEAMEO Secretariat would like to express the appreciation to all 157 video clips from educational institutions, communities, teachers and students from Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam, who made the great effort to produce the video clips telling their “Stories of Success” which they have applied for their own educational institutions, communities, or even for themselves as a self-improvement programme during the lockdown period.

The criteria for selecting the best video clips to be live broadcasted are not only the quality and creativity in production, but also the impress of the contents. Practical skills should be embedded and easy to understand. And the last importance – the stories must be replicable and useful for teachers and learners.

The SEAMEO Pre-Congress Lecture Series were opened to the general public for the online streaming in the following SEAMEO Secretariat YouTube Channel.
