8th Annual Forum for High Officials of Basic Education of

SEAMEO Member Countries and Associate Member Countries

Theme: Advancing School Safety and Resilience in the Southeast Asian Region

The High Officials of Basic Education of SEAMEO Member Countries gathered in Bohol, Philippines, for the 8th Annual Forum for High Officials of Basic Education of SEAMEO Member Countries and Associate Member Countries, to discuss and share a theme under Priority Number 3 of the SEAMEO Education Agenda 2015 to 2035/Seven Priority Areas.

Thirty-Nine representatives from five SEAMEO Member Countries, namely, Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Thailand and the Philippines shared the best practices and worked cooperatively to promote “School Safety and Resiliency in Southeast Asian Region” to help the Southeast Asian teachers and learners to build new skills and prepare them for the rapid risk world for the Disaster Risk Reduction Management (DRRM). This Forum was successfully done with the support of the Department of Education (DepEd), Lourdes National High School and the local government units of Bohol, the Philippines in bringing together the parties for this Annual Forum.

The Forum recommended to the SEAMEO Council through the Secretariat to contribute to inclusive and equitable education through Advancing School Safety and Resilience in the Southeast Asian RegionThe Regional Policy Recommendations have been introduced at the end of this Forum. SEAMEO Secretariat will bring this Regional Policy Recommendation to SEAMEO Council for endorsement.
