SEAMEO - NIDA Internship Programme

The SEAMEO-NIDA Internship Programme started in 1997.The School of Language and Communication, the National Institute of Development (NIDA) offers a master's degree programme in Language and Communication. In the said programme, an internship is offered as one of the requirement courses so as to provide students with practical experience in speaking, writing, translation skills in English while working under professional supervision on the job. The internship lasts 7 weeks in the summer session around March till May of each year.

In 1997, NIDA sent Miss Suraswadee Ratanakul as the first intern to SEAMEO Secretariat. She worked under the supervision of Dr Kantatip Sinhaneti, the Information officer. In 29 March till 31 May 1999 NIDA sent two interns: Miss Thippayapa Boonsri and Miss Chotikanit Punpokha who also worked with Dr Kantatip Sinhaneti, the Information officer and Mr Wilfredo Pascual, the Publication officer. In 20 March till 4 May 2000 NIDA sent two more interns: Miss Chombongkoch Asavaphan and Miss Aree Wongkhaluang who worked under the supervision of Information officer and Publication officer.

Ms Porntip Saenung from the Graduate School of Public Administration did her internship under the Information Technology Unit in 2001.
