Special Proejcts
Focus on the
Philippines, 1995-1997. A public education program co-sponsored
by the Asia Society in New York and the AIM Policy Forum to inform
the American public about developments in the Philippines, FOP involved
a series of policy dialogues in Washington, D.C., public conferences
in selected cities in the United States and roundtable discussions
with representatives of the Fil-American community in these cities.
Management Innovation
Programme, 1992-1994. Organized by INTERMAN (International Management
Development Network) with funding support from the ILO and CIDA
(Canadian International Development Agency), the project involved
the identification and documentation of innovations in management
and management development in Latin America, Africa, South Asia
and the Southeast Asia. The results of the project were presented
at the Global Management Development Forum in Barcelona, Spain,
and discussed at a workshop in Durham University, England in 1993.
ASEAN-Vietnam
Study Group, 1990-1992. With funding support from CIDA, the project
explored initiatives to promote better relations between Vietnam
and the countries of ASEAN. Under the project’s auspices,
conference were organized in Hanoi, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok and Manila.
The Vietnamese team was led by Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Kanh
and the ASEAN team by Deputy Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
