142 Bilateral Agreements were signed at the 3rd Partnership Workshop of SEAMEO-China TVET Cultural Twinning Programme

The 3rd Partnership Workshop SEAMEO-China TVET Cultural Twinning Programme was organized on 25-26 July 2019 in Guiyang, PR China, back to back with the 12th China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week. The workshop was hosted by Guizhou Provincial Department of Education (GPDE), the China ASEAN Education Cooperation Week Secretariat, ASEAN China Center and Guizhou Polytechnic of Construction and co-organised by the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) Secretariat. 

 

112 participants from 24 institution China and 30 institution Southeast Asia attended the event. This meeting aimed to strengthen and sustain long-term collaboration between TVET institutions in China and Southeast Asian countries.

 

 

The meeting focused on sharing successful collaborations, challenges, and recommendations from institutions on developing sustainable partnerships between China and Southeast Asia. The sharing session offered the opportunity for participants to freely discuss and explore possible collaborations with the potential partners.  As a cultural activity, the study visit to Guizhou Polytechnic of Construction and Ancient Town was organised in the afternoon of 26 July.

 

 

At the end of the Workshop, there were 142 bilateral agreements signed between Chinese and SEA TVET institutions, with a total of 384 collaborative activities, such as teacher exchange and training, student exchange, scholarship dual programmes, and internship, which will be organised starting from September 2019 and onwards.

 

 

Through this event, participants expressed their appreciation to the host organizations for organizing the partnership platform for Southeast Asian and Chinese institutions to meet and develop fruitful collaborations.
