Focus Group Discussion on the importance of clean water to man and animal. They also discuss the effects of water cycle on man and marine life.

Objectives of Discussion:

  1. To find out the students’ knowledge on the importance of clean water to man and animal.
  2. To obtain students’ opinions about the effects of water cycle on man and marine life.

Moderator’s script:

  1. First, in our discussion today, there is no right or wrong answer. We are interested to hear about your suggestions on the importance of clean water to man and animal. We would also like to obtain your opinions about the effects of water cycle on man and marine life.
  1. Second, you shouldn’t feel that you have to agree with everyone else in this room of that’s not how you really feel. There are many people in this class and we expect that people will have different ideas and it is important that we learn about all the suggestions that are mentioned here.
  1. Third, we want you to feel comfortable saying usual ways as well as unusual ones. We just want you to voice your suggestions freely.
  1. Fourth, we request that you talk one at a time so that we can be sure to hear everyone’s suggestions and get them on tape.

Guide Questions:

  1. What do you know about the importance of clean water to man and animal?
  2. What do you think are the major effects of water cycle on man and marine life?
  3. Do you think that it is possible for you to contribute to the conservation and preservation of clean water?
  4. Would you like to start such a project in your school and beyond?
  5. Would you be willing to take part in such a community project?
  6. Would you encourage your family/ friends to join in?
  7. Would you like to be a member of a group, which can promote this project?
