The effect of COVID-19 has changed many things not only in our daily lives but also our work at the office! SEAMEO Secretariat has recently turned many of our physical meetings into virtual ones, seminars have become webinars and forums into e-forums. SEAMES has established a plan to transform our work toward the digital revolution.    In order to enhance media production capability, SEAMES has organized a study visit a studio at the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) in Pathum Thani province in the afternoon of the 9th October 2020.

Dr Kritsachai Somsaman, our Deputy Director (Administration & Communication) and former Director of Science Media Division at NSTDA, helped introduced NSTDA and arranged a special learning opportunity with lectures from NSTDA.
There were four different speakers, Khun Boonsak, Khun Belle, Khun Oh and Khun Neng. Their broadcasting work includes Palang Wit (The power of science) which is still on-air and Science Guide (a travel programme with science knowledge in everywhere they go).

The team work on producing different types of media such as TV programmes, documentaries, Vidoe Tape Recorder (VTR), Presentation, Live broadcast, printing and non-printing media, virtual seminar and training, knowledge sharing media for general public and internal staff (Fast Fwd TV).

A good and quality production requires teamwork of all of the team members starting from script writing, finding interesting contents, adjustment, graphic design, shooting, adding subtitles for those who have earing disabilities, finding the host, actors and lots more. Photo shooting techniques and lighting guides were also shared for SEAMES’ future work.

The SEAMES Outreach and Development Activities (SODA) marked a wonderful sign for learning opportunity from other organizations and meet staff development objectives!
