July was a starting month our fiscal year of 2020-2021 for SEAMEO Secretariat.  It was a great opportunity to refresh our minds after an unpredictable COVID-19 pandemic during the past few months. All SEAMES Staff gathered together on 9 July 2020 for the Annual Planning Workshop to identify our strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats in the past year base on SWOT analysis framework.

This workshop allowed us to think widely of the past work, to celebrate our successes, to do self-evaluation, to review our work management capabilities and to plan on what we should do with our unfinished tasks and ways to improve them in the future.

The Programme and Development, Administration and Communication and Knowledge Management Departments were given time to brainstorm their ideas in their respective areas of work. There was a variety of interesting programmes and projects coming in under the 7 Priority Areas during this fiscal year. With the unexpected situation of COVID-19 pandemic, we have experienced a lot of changes in organizing our regular activities. We have conducted our meetings via online platform instead of face-to-face.

In this special occasion, the SEAMEO Secretariat’s Directorate also presented 10 plaques of recognition for 10 and 20 years of long-service award and a plaque of distinguished service award in recognition with special contribution to SEAMES staff.

In between these brainstorming sessions, there were the icebreaking activities run by our two energetic interns from Thailand and Italy. We were playing those fun games very seriously as a team for a box of chocolate reward! We were having fun and productive time throughout the workshop. Check out a glimpse of the day from these photos.
