SEAMEO and ASEAN Secretariats Hold Third Coordination Meeting

Among others, the two Secretariats provided updates on their respective priorities and activities on education and discussed ways to support SEAMEO-ASEAN joint initiatives.  Priority programmes and activities were also identified to form part of the SEAMEO-ASEAN Joint Work Plan for implementation from 2013 to 2015.  The planning included identifying possible funding mechanisms and potential Dialogue Partners.

Participants in the meeting include key officials and officers of SEAMEO and ASEAN Secretariats. The ASEAN Secretariat ™s team was led H E Alicia R Bala, Deputy Secretary General of ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community, while the SEAMEO Secretariat team was led by Dr Tinsiri Siribodhi, Deputy Director for Administration and Communication.

The annual meeting of the SEAMEO and ASEAN Secretariats began in 2011 which serves as mechanism for collaboration on the activities of SEAMEO and ASEAN on education, science and culture in the Southeast Asia region.
