Higher Education Officials from People ™s Republic of China Visit SEAMEO Secretariat

The higher education officials from the People ™s Republic of China highlighted their interest in pursuing collaboration with SEAMEO on the area of œgreen development , which is currently a top priority of the People ™s Republic of China and which BNU has done considerable work on. The green development is an approach to development which considers community-wide or regional environment implication, thus a cross-cutting and major global concern. The SEAMEO Secretariat stated the possibility of linking initiatives on green development with programmes identified under the 2011-2020 SEAMEO Strategic Plan. In addition to green development, the higher education officials from the People ™s Republic of China and the SEAMEO Secretariat discussed on possible collaboration in the areas of higher education, teacher education and technical vocational education.

Both parties agreed to further discuss the details of the platform for cooperation between SEAMEO and BNU.
