SEAMEO Centre Directors Meeting Reports 

The first Centre Directors Meeting (CDM Meeting) was convened by the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Secretariat in Bangkok in the conference room of the Darakarn Building from 18 - 20 February 1971. 

The meeting was an offshoot of the Sixth SEAMEO Council Conference held in Saigon on January 11 - 14, 1971 which a number of significant resolutions affecting the Organization were adopted and  the SEAMEO Secretariat was directed to implement them as soon as possible.

To carry out the directives of the SEAMEO Council, the SEAMEO Secretariat studied and discussed the resolutions in a series of staff meetings.   After due consideration, the then SEAMEO Secretariat Director, General Netr Khemayodhin decided to call a meeting of the SEAMEO Centre Directors to seek their counsel and advice in order to ensure effective and immediate implementation of the resolutions.

Since this First Meeting, the SEAMEO Secretariat prepares suggestive guidelines called "working papers" which serve as the basis for discussion in the meeting.  The final report records the suggestions and recommendations that have come out of the meeting, the working papers and other relevant documents.

The final reports are distributed to the participants and available for reference at the SEAMEO Secretariat Library and the Regional Centres/Network.  The reports are listed in reverse chronological order.
