VIETNAM
GRADUATION
EXAMINATION FOR GENERAL SECONDARY, GENERAL STREAMING SECONDARY,
AND LOWER SECONDARY LEVELS
Date,
subjects and content of examination.
- Graduation examination for upper secondary,
and upper streaming secondary is organized twice a year.
- Session one at the end of the
school year when completing the curriculum of the level.
- Session two: at the end of August
for those who failed in the first session.
- Graduation examination for lower secondary
level is organized once a year.
- Subjects for examination.
- Content: the content of subjects for
examination will be defined by the curriculum (upper secondary,
upper streaming secondary, lower secondary) that the students
follow during the level of education.
Marking
of examination papers.
- MOET is responsible for marking of
the examination papers for upper secondary and upper streaming
secondary level.
- The service of education and training
of provinces is responsible for marking examination papers
for lower secondary level.
EXAMINATION
FOR SELECTING EXCELLENT STUDENTS OF DIFFERENT LEVELS OF EDUCATION
AT NATIONAL LEVEL
Candidates for Examination:
Students of the last grade
of the education level, for the upper secondary level alone,
students of grade 11 are permitted to sit for examination (with
the level of grade 12).
So, examination for selecting
excellent students at national level is conducted for only 3
grade levels; grade 5, grade 9, grade 12.
Subjects of Examination
Grade 5: Two compulsory
subjects. Mathematics and Vietnamese language and possibly other
subjects as defined each year. Duration of time for each subject
is 90 minutes/a subject.
Grade 9 and grade 12: each
student can only sit for one examination (for one subject).
Duration: Grade 9: 150 minutes/a
subject
Grade 12: 180 minutes/a subject/a day
For grade 12, mathematics,
physics, chemistry, biology and informatics subjects are covered
by the exam, each subject has two days for examination.
