| Experience
Gained After finishing the internship program at SEAMES, I extremely acknowledged that SEAMES was the right place for the intern because I gained a lot of experience. I had the practical work experience under the professional supervision of Mr. Wilfredo O. Pascual, Jr. At the beginning, my work progress was in disorder; however, I learned how to prioritize working process from him. He assigned each work step by step in a well-organized plan. Working with him, I gained a lot of knowledge and experience that will be useful for my future career. It was my chance to apply the in-class knowledge to real work setting. SEAMES gave me a great opportunity to participate in the international Congress like the 1st SEAMEO Education Congress. I experienced working with multicultural people and the intergovernmental working process during the Congress. My English language skills both spoken and listening were improved. I practiced my speaking and listening skills by communicating to participants of the Congress and SEAMES staff. My reading skill was improved as a result of working on the production of Congress’s publication. As coordinating with staff and interns of Information and Technology Office (ITO). I gained new ideas and knowledge on Computer Literacy and IT. Moreover, ITO set up a class on “Web-Page Editing” which is valuable knowledge. I had a chance to attend the presentation of Ms. Anita Lie from Petra Christian University, entitled “the Multicultural Curriculum: Towards Education for Peace and Development” which gave me a new dimension about Cultural Influence and confirm my interest on Culture. In conclusion, SEAMES is
the intergovernmental educational organization that provides opportunity
to students who want to have practical experience under professional
supervision. Being an intern at SEAMES is a great and beneficial
experience in my life. I have gained valuable experience that will be
fruitful for my future career. Lastly, I would like to express my
gratitude to my supervisor, Mr. Wilfredo O. Pascual, Jr. for his
beneficial suggestions about a working process and his kindly teaching. |
