The Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO), an international intergovernmental organization, was established on 30 November 1965 when Southeast Asian Ministers of Education met informally in Bangkok, Thailand, and resolved to exert joint and cooperative efforts for regional educational development. 

Special functions were organized to commemorate the establishment of the Organization i.e. the unviel of plaques by the Ministers of Education at the SEAMEO Secretariat office, recognition by the SEAMEO Council the pioneering role of the founders of SEAMEO on the occasion of SEAMEO's 25th anniversary by awarding the Plaques to M L Pin Malakul, dinners hosted by the SEAMEO Secretariat during the High Officials Meetings.
