Twenty-three students from Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand who are doing a course on Public Relations; and 57 students from Padjadjaran University in Bandung Indonesia who are taking up International Relations visited the SEAMEO Secretariat in pursuit of learning about the programmes of the Organization and the model of cooperation among the SEAMEO Member Countries on 30 November and 2 December 2009, respectively.
The SEAMEO Secretariat received the groups of students and their teacher-advisers and provided them with orientations focusing on the nature of SEAMEO as an intergovernmental organization, the SEAMEO's Regional Centres, and the programmes and services available to nationals of Southeast Asia and beyond.
The groups of students interacted actively and asked plenty of questions during the open forums provided for them. As follow-up to their learning experiences with SEAMEO, the students from Chulalongkorn University will undertake group work activities based on their learning. Meanwhile, the Padjadjaran University students will reflect on the SEAMEO's model of cooperation and its significance in the field of international relations.
