The Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) was established on 30 November 1965 as a chartered international organisation whose purpose is to promote cooperation in education, science and culture in the Southeast Asian region.

Indonesian University lecturers visit SEAMEO

A group of top officials and university professors from the Indonesia University of Education (Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia) in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia visited the SEAMEO Secretariat on 16 September 2009 to learn more about SEAMEO and seek possible collaboration with the Organization. The team was led by Prof Dr Sunaryo Kartadinata, President of Indonesia University of Education.




The University officials and lecturers also visited the Faculty of Education of Chulalongkorn University and Faculty of Education of Srinakharinwirot University in Bangkok, Thailand. The study visit was aimed at fostering cooperation and exchanging ideas and best practices on higher education with the said institutions in Thailand.

 

Prof Dr Sunaryo Kartadinata, President of Indonesia University of Education presents a token of appreciation to Dato’ Dr Ahamad bin Sipon, Director of the SEAMEO Secretariat.

 

Officials and lecturers receive orientation from the SEAMEO Secretariat on the programmes, projects and priority areas of SEAMEO.
