Family Friday Night

Admission is $10.95 for all ages 2 and up on the last Friday of the month from 5:00pm to 9:00pm!

Frogs

Based on the book Five Green and Speckled Frogs by Priscilla Burris. Frogs are interesting animals! Come hop, jump, and ribbit as we discover these amazing creatures.

  • Grade Level: 18-36mos

Ferrofluid

Participants see how iron fillings suspended in a liquid form an interesting creation called ferrofluid, which, when placed near a strong magnet, create interesting designs/forms.

Frenzied Fleas

Students test the effects of drugs like caffeine and sleeping pills on the heart rate of a live water flea. Concepts: human anatomy & physiology, dose-response curves, drug toxicity.

Funky Fruit Flies

Students explore how genes impact drug response by observing live wildtype and mutant drosophila exposed to alcohol. Concepts: molecular biology, pharmacogenomics, personal health.

Fun on the Farm

Use your senses to explore in this down-on-the-farm experience. Bandanas and boots are optional! Based on Big Red Barn by Margaret Wise Brown.

This workshop explores different animals and the sounds they make. Enjoy plenty of “eee-i, eee–i, ohs” as you paint a barn, meet a chicken, and dress up as your favorite animal! Based on the book Big Red Barn by Margaret Wise Brown.

Find Your Inner Inventor: Soldering - Part I

Learn about the design process, some common tools involved in tinkering and inventing, and begin to develop skills needed to create your own custom piece of jewelry, gadget, or useful item. Explore stations to see the projects that could be possible with your newfound skills.

Please note there is an extra $12 materials fee for this workshop.

Maker Camp is a 6-week virtual summer camp for anyone interested in DIY, making, creating, crafting, hacking, tinkering, and discovery. It's free and it starts on July 8!
