The Minister of Education Thailand visited 10 SEAMEO Member Countries in his capacity as SEAMEO Council President. During his visits, SEAMEO Council President discussed about how to provide educational exchanges and various initiatives to attain the goal of SEAMEO 7 Priority Areas as well as the establishment of new SEAMEO Centres including Thailand initiative to establish SEAMEO STEM to be propose in 49th SEAMEO Council Conference.

The SEAMEO Secretariat in collaboration with University of San Jose - Recoletos (USJ-R) convened the 3rd Evaluation Meeting for Pre-Service Student Teacher Exchange in Southeast Asia (SEA-Teacher Project)’ on 28-29 March 2017 at Cebu Grand Hotel, Cebu City, Philippines. The meeting aims to review and evaluate the implementation of the 3rd batch of SEA-Teacher project and to discuss and plan for the 4th batch with more universities and more practicum subjects in August 2017.

Globally, the Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) paved its way in 2012 when it penetrated the web in making educational content and lectures available to anyone at any time and any place. MOOCs have consequently provided ways for lifelong learning and MOOCs is an innovation that is here to stay, but education leaders need to determine how it can contribute to SEAMEO 7 Education Agenda towards the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal no 4 in terms of technology, pedagogy, content and knowledge.
