The sitar with its resounding vibration is used in the composition as a symbol of SEAMEO's echoing loud voice. Meanwhile the profound beat of the tabla as the percussion reflects determination and decisiveness. The sitar and tabla, both traditional musical instruments, symbolize culture preservation. Whereas the 16 beat contemporary style accompaniment from the keyboard speaks of the success of science - innovation and creation. Put together - the sitar, the tabla, and the accompaniment from the keyboard, they compliment one another to produce that special hymn for SEAMEO -- the voice of SEAMEO.

To reflect the burning spirit of SEAMEO, the melody moves gayly both through stepwise and leap intervals. Tempo is approximately between 110-120 per beat. The leggier style of singing will be most appropriate one to perform this song.

The title of the SEAMEO Anthem "One Vision In Unity" is conceived following the aim of The SEAMEO Songwriting Competition to choose a hymn that correctly portrays and symbolizes SEAMEO's vision and spirit of unity among the Southeast Asian nations in the promotion of regional understanding and cooperation in education, science and culture.

The lyrics of the hymn (anthem) begins by proclaiming the role and goals of SEAMEO in the spirit of unity, partnership and cooperation among member countries of the region followed by the collective pledge of the members' aspirations to bring about a better quality of life through 'One Vision in Unity'.

The arrangement of the music is orchestrated and written in a stately tempo of 80 beats per minute climaxing towards the last stanza reiterating SEAMEO's vision and mission to achieve a better quality of life. The hymn is recorded in C Major and the melody ranges an octave and a major third apart which is suitable for corporate singing.
