Farewell to outgoing Director and Welcome to new Director of SEAMEO Secretariat

The SEAMEO Secretariat hosted a tea party on the 22 March 2019, to express gratitude and appreciation to Dr Gatot Hari Priowirjanto as its  Director from 1 April 2015 to end of March 2019. Dr Gatot Hari Priowirjanto used this event as an opportunity to also thank the Ministry of Education Thailand, SEAMEO Member Countries, Associate Member Countries, Affiliate Members,  as well as the SEAMEO Centres and Partners for their support to his leadership and their contributions in expanding SEAMES programmes and projects in line with the thrust on SEAMEO Seven Priority Areas and Education Agenda.

Dr Ethel Agnes Pascua Valenzuela, Designated Director of SEAMEO Secretariat extended a special thank you message to Dr Gatot Hari Priowirjanto on behalf of the SEAMEO Secretariat for his contributions to the organisation and education community  using different 21st century platforms such as SEA TVET, SEA Creative Camps, SEA Polytechnic, and SEA Virtual Programmes to name a few. Dr Valenzuela mentioned that  Dr Gatot Hari Priowirjanto’s legacy in leading programmes towards adopting the 21st Century skills will be sustained and enhanced for the next four years.

This occasion also marked with the signing of hand-over responsibilities of SEAMEO Secretariat Director from Dr Gatot Hari Priowirjanto to Dr Ethel Agnes Pascua Valenzuela. Dr Valenzuela presented the highlights of Dr Gatot's term and shared the roadmap for the next four years, starting with the development of SEAMEO’s new Strategic Plan from 2021 to 2030 and preparing a clearer roadmap towards achieving the SEAMEO Education Agenda towards SDG.

SEAMEO Secretariat also welcomed the 18th SEAMEO Secretariat Director, Dr Ethel Agnes Pascua Valenzuela,  who ended 4 years’ term as SEAMES Deputy Director for Programme and Development and wished Dr Gatot well in his new role as SEAMEO Indonesian Centres Coordinator for the next years.
