7 May 2015 ,Royal Cliff Hotels Group, Chonburi, Thailand - The SEAMEO Council has approved the official proclamation of China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) as an Affiliate Member of the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) at the 48th SEAMEO Council Conference, Chonburi, Thailand.
The certificate was presented to CEAIE by the 48th SEAMEO Council President, H E Admiral Narong Pipathanasai, Minister of Education, Thailand and CEAIE is officially and affiliate member of SEAMEO.
The presentation was witnessed by the Ministers of Education, Vice Ministers and High Officials of the 11 SEAMEO Member Countries, namely Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam and the High Officials from the SEAMEO Associate Member Countries and Affiliate Members.
The China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) is a non - profit organization which carries out programmes and activities related to international education exchange and cooperation; and promote the advancement of education, culture, science and technology.
CEAIE first expressed its interest to be an affiliate member to SEAMEO during a meeting with SEAMEO Secretariat on 5 June 2014 in Beijing, China. Partnership as an affiliate member with CEAIE would strengthen collaboration between SEAMEO Member countries and the People’s Republic of China.
