Ten lecturers, eighteen PhD candidates and 20 master degree students from Indonesia University of Education, Bandung Campus, Indonesia led by Prof H Udin Syaefudin Sa'ud, Chairperson of Study Programme of Educational Administration, Graduate School, visited the SEAMEO Secretariat on 16 June 2011. The purpose of the visit was to learn about SEAMEO and it's activities and projects in promoting and developing education, science and culture in the Southeast Asian region.

The SEAMEO Secretariat and the UNESCO Bangkok Asia and Pacific Regional Bureau for Education Office organized the Second Joint SEAMEO-UNESCO Workshop which focused on producing high-quality publications on 27-29 June 2011 at the Institute for the Promotion of Teaching Science and Technology (IPST), Bangkok, Thailand. The three-day workshop tackled the cycle of producing publications and the processes involved at each stage such as planning and content preparation, printing, distribution, cataloging and archiving, translations and adaptations, promotion, and monitoring and evaluating impact.

The SEAMEO Centre Directors Meeting 2011 concluded on 7 July 2011 with great enthusiasm to implement new projects and strengthen existing ones through the support of SEAMEO partners and collaborators that include, among others, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sport, Science and Technology (MEXT) Japan; the APEC Secretariat; the University of Tsukuba, Microsoft Corporation, Asia Pacific; the Cognition Education (New Zealand); and the Nord Anglia Education (United Kingdom).

National EFA Coordinators and education officials from ten SEAMEO Member Countries and the SEAMEO Secretariat participated in the 12th Regional Meeting of National Education For All (EFA) Coordinators that was held on 25-28 July 2011 at the Sejong Hotel and the Korean National Commission for UNESCO in Seoul, Republic of Korea. The meeting served as forum to discuss with countries and EFA partners on ways to accelerate progress in achieving the EFA goals in 2015, as well as to learn from the experiences of the Republic of Korea in improving access of its people to quality education which contributed to the country’s development.
